A Tabletop Demonstration Railgun

Brent Short and I built a demonstration railgun for Pulsed Power class (EE
5345) during the fall semester of 1999. This project took the place of a
final exam in the class. We were allowed to pick our own project, as long
as the teacher gave us approval. We thought that a railgun would be
really interesting to build. Apparently many people feel the same way we
do, judging from all the interest from everyone we tell about the project.
The goal of the project was simply to get a demonstration of the railgun
concept working by the end of the semester.
